Key Responsibilities:

The Steel Material Handler will play a crucial role in supporting our fabrication facility through various tasks, including:

  • Efficiently loading and unloading steel materials from transport vehicles.
  • Operating overhead cranes to facilitate material movement.
  • Transferring steel components to production tables.
  • Utilizing forklifts for material handling.
  • Performing rigging tasks as necessary to maneuver materials safely.
  • Assisting with additional responsibilities to ensure smooth operations within the fabrication shop.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in operating overhead cranes.
  • Ability to load and unload structural steel in outdoor environments.
  • Experience in forklift operation is required.
  • Basic mathematical skills are necessary.
  • Commitment to adhering to Met-Con's safety protocols and procedures.
  • Team-oriented mindset to contribute to the achievement of company objectives.
  • Capacity to stand for extended periods, ranging from 8 to 10 hours.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a dynamic setting.
