Overview: The Automotive Maintenance Specialist will be responsible for managing all physical aspects of their assigned shifts, which includes the servicing of electrical and mechanical systems, maintenance of production machinery, utilities, and grounds, while ensuring compliance with relevant policies and regulations. Our specialists are seasoned professionals who deliver operational improvements to OEMs and Tier 1 Suppliers through their extensive industry expertise, analytical skills, and a commitment to implementing effective changes on the production floor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establishing key performance indicators (KPIs) on the production floor to ensure maintenance objectives are achieved.
  • Designing and executing a preventive maintenance strategy for production machinery and equipment.
  • Providing training and development opportunities for the internal maintenance team to ensure adherence to best practices.
  • Diagnosing and resolving equipment failures on the production floor.
  • Identifying areas for enhancement in equipment maintainability and reliability.
  • Creating maintenance standards to streamline work processes, adapt tools and procedures to boost equipment utilization and reliability, while minimizing service quality issues.
  • Advising on equipment needs and acquisitions to optimize production efficiency and returns.
  • Assessing ongoing jobs and completed tasks to ensure safety and quality standards are met.
  • Managing the maintenance and operation of various facility systems to guarantee uninterrupted service.
  • Planning the layout of electrical and mechanical equipment; recommending and implementing modifications to facilities.
  • Upholding Lean Principles on the production floor.
  • Additional duties may be assigned based on organizational needs and individual skill sets.

Qualifications:

  • Exceptional leadership and management capabilities with a proven ability to coordinate diverse teams and departments.
  • In-depth knowledge of Mechanics, Hydraulics, Electrical systems, Pneumatics, PLCs, etc.
  • Comprehensive understanding of OSHA and EPA regulations related to plant operations and maintenance.
  • Ability to comprehend and operate the systems and equipment utilized at the facility.
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Physical Requirements: Regularly required to stand and use hands for various tasks. Frequent walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling is expected. Occasional climbing or balancing may be necessary. The role requires the ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds regularly, up to 25 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
