Respiratory Therapist Position

Inova Health System is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Inova Fairfax Hospital.
Job SummaryWe are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Respiratory Therapist to provide high-quality patient care in our inpatient setting. As a Respiratory Therapist 1, you will be responsible for performing basic clinical assessments, administering respiratory therapeutic interventions, and establishing and managing mechanical ventilation.
Responsibilities- Perform basic clinical assessments, including pulse rate, respiratory rate, breath sounds, and perceived work of breathing.
- Administer basic respiratory therapeutic interventions, such as gas/humidity therapy, bronchial hygiene, and airway management.
- Establish and manage basic mechanical ventilation with commonly used ventilators.
- Collect specimens and perform basic diagnostic testing, such as EKG, sputum collection, and bedside spirometry.
- Display accuracy in interpreting diagnostic and monitoring data, including spirometry, CXR, culture and sensitivity, and blood gases.
- Graduate of an accredited CoARC respiratory care program.
- Certified Respiratory Therapist by the National Board of Respiratory Care.
- Basic Life Support from AHA upon start.
- Licensed Respiratory Therapist and eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
