Job Summary

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Respiratory Therapist to provide high-quality patient care in our inpatient setting. The ideal candidate will have excellent clinical assessment skills, be proficient in basic respiratory therapeutic interventions, and have a strong understanding of mechanical ventilation.

Responsibilities
  • Administer basic respiratory therapeutic interventions, including gas/humidity therapy, bronchial hygiene, and airway management.
  • Establish and manage basic mechanical ventilation with commonly used ventilators.
  • Perform weaning mechanics as ordered and review the need for continuing ventilator support.
  • Collect specimens and perform basic diagnostic testing, such as EKG and sputum collection.
  • Display accuracy in interpreting diagnostic and monitoring data, including spirometry and blood gases.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited CoARC respiratory care program.
  • Certified Respiratory Therapist by the National Board of Respiratory Care.
  • Basic Life Support from AHA.
  • Licensed Respiratory Therapist and eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
