Position Summary

This role involves leading a team of union-represented communications technicians responsible for the secure installation of IT communications infrastructure across diverse locations, including network rooms, substations, offices, remote mountain sites, and communication towers. The supervisor will provide direction to ensure safe and efficient network infrastructure projects while managing associated costs. Responsibilities include conducting safety assessments, quality reviews, and guiding work prioritization to meet operational deadlines. The position requires the ability to handle multiple priorities and offer support during after-hours or weekend emergencies. Additionally, the supervisor will focus on team development through training and accountability, while also understanding and administering the bargaining unit contract appropriately. Travel to various service areas may be necessary.

Salary Information

PG&E is committed to transparency regarding salary ranges for this position. The compensation range reflects the company's good faith belief about what it might pay at the time of posting, specific to the job's locality. Actual salaries will depend on various factors, including skills, education, certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. The company does not expect that the individual hired for this role will be compensated at or near the top half of the stated range, as decisions will be based on the unique circumstances of each case.

Salary Range:

Bay Area Minimum: $128,000.00

Bay Area Maximum: $218,000.00

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensure safe construction practices during IT infrastructure installations.
  • Assist teams in overcoming obstacles that may delay project timelines.
  • Utilize the Planisware project management tool to oversee workload and commitments.
  • Adapt to dynamic environments, providing after-hours and emergency support as needed.
  • Travel to remote locations for field safety and quality observations.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects and resources effectively.
  • Assign appropriate resources to projects to meet operational deadlines.
  • Ensure compliance with IT construction standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews for crew members and quarterly reviews for apprentices.
  • Foster collaboration and build relationships with leaders, project managers, and engineering teams.
  • Oversee crew activities for the safe and efficient installation of IT infrastructure.
  • Monitor program outcomes against technical specifications.
  • Provide constructive feedback and leadership to bargaining unit crew members.
  • Administer the intent and spirit of the IBEW 1245 contract as applicable.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3 years of experience in project management within the IT sector.

Desired:

  • 5+ years of experience in communications infrastructure construction methods.
  • 3+ years of experience in a supervisory capacity.
  • 3+ years of experience managing bargaining unit coworkers.
