The Registration Senior Team Lead serves as a key resource for addressing daily challenges related to patient check-in and prioritizes exceptional customer service. This role involves executing routine administrative tasks associated with patient registration, collecting insurance details, and securing necessary referrals or authorizations. The Team Lead is responsible for maintaining current reference materials on insurance plans and aids the Registration Manager in communicating and implementing policy and procedural updates to the registration staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a primary resource for resolving daily patient check-in issues, escalating concerns as necessary.
- Support the implementation and adherence to established policies and procedures.
- Facilitate training sessions for staff on the registration process and software, promoting cross-training among front desk personnel across all locations.
- Collaborate closely with management to enhance processes, ensuring high accuracy and efficiency levels.
- Ensure patient check-in is performed in accordance with established protocols, monitoring data entry for errors and inaccuracies promptly.
- Directly supervise one or more team members, assisting with hiring, planning, monitoring performance, and taking corrective actions when needed. Address staff concerns to foster a positive work environment and work closely with management on personnel matters, escalating issues as appropriate.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- A minimum of one year of experience in registration and/or checkout processes.
- Proven excellence in a customer-facing service role.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software, scheduling, and medical records applications, with the ability to quickly learn a multi-line phone system.
Physical Requirements
- The work environment is typical of an office setting, where the employee must effectively manage their responsibilities amidst various distractions, including staff, patients, and vendors.
- While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to sit and use their hands for up to 8 hours a day. They must also be able to communicate effectively and may occasionally need to stand, walk, reach, or bend.
- The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds safely. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
