Position Summary:
The Precision Machining Specialist plays a crucial role in executing high-precision machining tasks. This position involves setting up and operating manual milling and turning equipment, ensuring that all produced components meet stringent quality standards. The Specialist will also be responsible for troubleshooting and performing necessary mechanical adjustments to maintain operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze work orders, blueprints, and specifications to plan machining operations effectively.
- Select and prepare the appropriate fixtures, attachments, and tools for each job.
- Set up and operate manual mills and lathes with precision.
- Inspect incoming materials to verify compliance with specifications.
- Monitor machine operations to maintain quality standards and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
- Utilize mathematical skills to calculate dimensions and tolerances.
- Document processes and maintain communication across shifts to ensure continuity.
- Identify and rectify machine malfunctions and defects promptly.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Employ various precision measuring instruments to uphold dimensional accuracy.
- Adhere to safety protocols to maintain a secure working environment.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required; a technical degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the machining field.
- Proficiency with horizontal milling machines and measuring tools.
- Ability to interpret blueprints and technical documents.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work conditions.
- Successful completion of a post-employment drug screening and background check.

Physical Requirements:
