Lionbridge is seeking highly skilled freelance Mandarin-English Over-the-Phone Interpreters to join our team of experts. As a freelancer, you will be responsible for handling calls on demand to provide accurate interpretation services across various industries, including Legal, Healthcare, and Government.
Key Responsibilities
- Accept and take ownership of on-demand incoming calls and conversations
- Identify the meaning of conversations across two different language types while maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor
- Receive projects typically presented in the form of three-way calls, lasting approximately 10-30 minutes each during regular US business hours
- Participate in training sessions to learn industry terminology and best practices
Requirements
- Advanced proficiency in Mandarin and English (spoken)
- Exceptional memory retention, note-taking, and communication skills in the appropriate language(s)
- Ability to complete and pass a language assessment in the languages you will be assigned to
- Prior experience in Interpretation or Language Services is a plus, but not required
