Job Summary

A Sanitation Worker at Career Concepts is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and hygiene standards within the production facility. They play a vital role in ensuring that the food processing environment meets regulatory requirements and follows Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).

Responsibilities

Cleaning and Sanitizing
  • Perform cleaning and sanitation tasks following established procedures and schedules.
  • Disassemble and reassemble equipment for thorough cleaning, including food processing machinery, conveyors, and work surfaces.
  • Use cleaning agents, sanitizers, and disinfectants to remove dirt, debris, and microorganisms from equipment and surfaces.
  • Follow proper sanitation techniques to prevent cross-contamination and ensure the safety of food products.
  • Clean and sanitize floors, walls, drains, restrooms, and other areas within the facility.
Compliance and Documentation
  • Follow all food safety regulations, including those set by local health departments and regulatory agencies.
  • Keep detailed records of cleaning and sanitation activities, including cleaning logs, checklists, and other required documentation.
Equipment Inspection and Maintenance
  • Inspect equipment for cleanliness and functionality before and after cleaning.
  • Identify any damaged or malfunctioning equipment and report it for repairs or maintenance.
  • Follow preventative maintenance schedules to ensure proper functioning of sanitation equipment and tools.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in sanitation or cleaning, preferably in a food processing or manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations, GMPs, and sanitation principles.
  • Familiarity with cleaning chemicals, sanitizers, and disinfectants used in a food production environment.
  • Attention to detail and a high level of cleanliness.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
  • Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks and work in a physically demanding environment.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Knowledge of basic safety practices and the ability to identify and address potential hazards.
  • Flexibility to work different shifts or extended hours as required.
Benefits
