The Department of Surgery at the Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a highly skilled Plastic Surgeon to join our team as a faculty member in the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for advancing the field of plastic and reconstructive surgery through research, education, and clinical practice.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct clinical research projects with medical students and residents to establish evidence-based practice outcomes in complex wounds and surgical education.
• Develop and maintain an active surgical practice, with support from the Division and Department's leadership.
• Teach and mentor residents in all areas of plastic and reconstructive surgery, with direct oversight of resident clinics at the VCU Medical Center.
• Serve on departmental and hospital committees, and participate in regional and national professional organizations.
Requirements:
• Board certification or eligibility in plastic and reconstructive surgery.
• Commitment to resident education and teaching.
• Commitment to clinical research and innovation.
• Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Fellowship experience in hand and microsurgery.
ORP Eligible: Yes
