Join Selectek as a Controls Automation Specialist

Selectek is actively seeking a talented Controls Automation Specialist to support our clients in the automation sector. This role involves significant travel and offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects across various industries.

Key Responsibilities:
- Configure and set up servo drives and variable frequency drives (VFDs).
- Program and develop from scratch using Siemens and Allen Bradley PLCs and HMIs, utilizing tools such as Rslogix, FactoryTalk, and Studio 5000.
- Engage in new equipment implementation and modifications, providing comprehensive design, specification, start-up, and commissioning for automation projects.
- Troubleshoot existing electrical and electronic control systems to resolve issues and minimize downtime.
- Engineer and specify the necessary hardware and software for automation initiatives.
- Expect to travel extensively (50-75%) to client locations, primarily within the Southeastern United States.

Qualifications:
- Proficient in programming Siemens and Allen Bradley PLCs and HMIs, with hands-on experience in Rslogix, FactoryTalk, and Studio 5000.
- Familiarity with safety configurations, including light curtains and area scanners, as well as safety over network protocols.
- Strong background in electrical, I/O, and panel wiring, along with troubleshooting capabilities.
- Experience in configuring communications with external devices, including robotics.
- Knowledge of motion control programming and vision inspection systems setup and configuration.
- Understanding of Ethernet, Profinet, DeviceNet, and CAN bus protocols.
- Proficient in SQL databases, VMware administration, and networking.
- Ability to create engineering documentation, including bills of materials, panel layouts, and electrical schematics.
- Capable of transforming conceptual requirements into functional systems.
- Willingness to travel frequently to client sites.

Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Automation Direct, Mitsubishi, Omron, and Beckhoff systems.

Additional Information:
- This position requires a background check and drug test.
- Candidates do not need to reside in a specific location but must be able to travel to major airports as needed.
- Work hours are Monday to Friday, with core hours from 8 AM to 5 PM.
- Remote work options are available, depending on project requirements.
- Overtime may be required based on project demands.
