Job Title: Director, Production

At PLUS Media, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director, Production to join our team. This role will be responsible for providing support to the Team Leader by performing daily tasks necessary to implement and execute media plans on behalf of clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and source multiple print quote requests, including various formats, creatives, lot sizes, and commingling on-press for split testing.
  • Coordinate multiple advertisers using the same format for print efficiencies.
  • Develop print grids to maximize efficiency.
  • Review print material and confer with clients or responsible individuals regarding budget, background information, objectives, presentation approaches, styles, techniques, and related production factors.
  • Develop basic design concepts into appropriate layouts and prepare layouts for printing.
  • Obtain cost estimates from outside vendors.
  • Contract and negotiate terms and deadlines with printers.
  • Review, approve, prepare, and present final layouts to clients or department heads for approval and printing.
  • Monitor vendor adherence to quality expectations and tight deadlines and budget specifications.
  • Attend press checks when necessary.
  • Work with account teams to prioritize, track, and maintain records of the elements, costs, and time schedules of multiple projects.
  • Proof and approve project details and submit to accounting for invoicing.
  • Identify and implement production best practices across the organization.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 7+ years of print production experience and account management.
  • Knowledge of Web, Mini Web, and Sheet fed Press operations, variable data printing technology, and Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
  • Experience with Direct Mail envelope, catalog, and self-mailer formats, as well as various single sheet and multi-panel Insert formats.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working with complicated data files, including segmentation.
  • Advanced understanding of current postal regulations and freight best practices.
