Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at Camden Clark Medical Center in St Marys, West Virginia. As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and working collaboratively with our healthcare team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care in the ambulatory setting, utilizing the nursing process and adhering to role/scope of practice.
  • Perform preliminary assessments of patients through observation and chart review to facilitate appropriate follow-up with the healthcare team.
  • Evaluate unstable or complex patient care situations and facilitate appropriate intervention.
  • Implement appropriate clinical decisions and demonstrate the appropriate use of expert peers and/or management, as applicable.
  • Accept accountability and use independent nursing judgment for care provided by self and by healthcare providers to whom care is delegated.
  • Demonstrate the appropriate use of standards, effective use of resources, and evaluation of patient response in the delivery of patient care.
  • Use standards of care and standards of practice to guide care delivery.
  • Bases decisions made/actions taken on relevant scientific principles, established standards of care, and/or research findings. Seek assistance/credible resource when unable to perform safely and independently.
  • Determine/revises priorities for direct/indirect patient care activities based on patient acuity and available resources, update to daily care plan to include appropriate algorithms for safe patient handling.
  • Use established patient care support systems, including documentation, communication, and information.
  • Responsible for educational instruction to patients and families with healthcare needs.
  • Identify teaching/learning needs of patients.
  • Evaluate effectiveness of patient and family teaching and make documentation in patient charts.
  • Assist in orientation of new employees according to unit orientation plan.
  • Apply information gained from educational experiences when providing patient care and instruction.
  • Assume responsibility for the development of others.
  • Engage in mentoring and networking activities to promote professional development.
  • Foster the integration of staff and/or students into the healthcare team. Facilitate incorporation of the unit's mission, values, and vision.
  • Demonstrate skill in the management of conflict situations.
  • Function to promote trusting relationships and open, honest communication at the unit level.
  • Engage in exchange of information relevant to specific patient assignment.
  • Interact with various members of the healthcare team to meet patient care needs.
  • Participate in Performance Improvement activities as appropriate.
Requirements
  • Current West Virginia licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse or a Graduate Nurse with a current West Virginia temporary practice permit. The Graduate nurse must obtain licensure within 60 days of hire (may not be waived).
  • Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in nursing preferred OR Associates of Science in Nursing Degree (ASN) or Diploma, currently enrolled in a BSN program and BSN completed within 5 years of hire preferred.

  • The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health recommends minimizing the need for employees to manually lift patients, and limit safe patient handling to 35 pounds. All transfers, lifts, and re-positioning will be completed utilizing the lift equipment and/or other patient handling aids as indicated by the patient's profile and appropriate algorithms.

Heavy/Hard work: Work requires strength and/or stamina, lifting, moving, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, and carrying of materials and equipment weighing 40+lbs.
