POSITION SUMMARY:

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for conducting diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in Nuclear Medicine and/or Nuclear Cardiology, ensuring compliance with established protocols, policies, and safety standards, particularly the A.L.A.R.A. principle. This role involves performing quality control checks in accordance with the guidelines set forth by manufacturers as well as state and federal regulations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Execute a variety of Nuclear Medicine examinations with precision and care.
  • Maintain adherence to safety protocols and quality assurance measures.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide optimal patient care.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Completion of a Nuclear Medicine program accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education Programs in Nuclear Medicine Technology (JRCNMT) or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).

EXPERIENCE:

No prior experience is required.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:

Must be a registered nuclear technologist with either the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (Nuclear) ARRT (N) or the Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board (NMTCB-CNMT).


ADDITIONAL SKILLS:

Current BLS certification is required. A comprehensive understanding of radiation safety protocols and radiopharmaceuticals is essential for performing and processing Nuclear Medicine examinations.
