We are seeking a skilled Public Transportation Operator to join our team at the City of Albany, OR. As a Transit Driver/Operator, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting passengers on our bus routes.
Key Responsibilities- Operate a bus on assigned routes, ensuring the safety and comfort of passengers
- Assist passengers with disabilities and provide excellent customer service
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance and report any issues to the supervisor
- Maintain accurate records of passenger counts, vehicle maintenance, and other relevant data
- Respond to emergency situations and apply CPR and first aid as needed
- Valid Oregon Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a passenger endorsement
- One year's experience driving trucks, buses, or similar equipment
- Thorough knowledge of traffic laws and defensive driving
- Ability to work varied hours, including weekends and holidays
- First aid and CPR certification
This is a non-supervisory position, and the selected candidate will work independently with minimal supervision. The work environment is fast-paced and requires excellent communication and customer service skills.
