Job Summary:
Monticciolo Family and Sedation Dentistry, PLLC is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Dental Assistant to provide exceptional clinical support and patient care in our busy dental office.
Responsibilities:
- Provide superior chair-side clinical support and assisting to doctors and hygienists, including charting, patient education, and operatory setup and cleanup.
- Manage patient flow, redirect efforts to respond to changes, prioritize next operatory room for doctors, and update doctors on patients' status.
- Welcome and greet patients in the reception area and provide a personal introduction, including name and position.
- Take and process X-rays.
- Perform patient hand-offs.
- Enter and update patient treatment plans at the direction of the treating doctor using the company operational system.
- Verify patients' clinical service needs were exceeded and take appropriate action when visits do not meet expectations.
- Escort patients to check-out.
- Complete sterilization processes for equipment and operatory.
- Monitor all laboratory cases and ensure they are ready for the next day's schedule.
- Maintain emergency kits and first aid supplies, emergency medications, and oxygen tank.
- Follow maintenance schedules for the processor, autoclave, and compressor on a weekly basis.
- Identify, report, and follow up on any maintenance issues in the office, including dental equipment and handpieces.
- Maintain and update the MSDS binder.
- Follow OSHA regulations and MFSD safety requirements, including compliance with HIPAA guidelines, CPR, X-rays, and other required certifications and registrations.
- Maintain and update annual CE requirements as specified by the state.
- Perform miscellaneous other duties as directed by supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Education Level: High School or diploma or GED.
- Job Related/Industry Experience: Minimum 1 year job-related experience, 3 years or more preferred. Dentrix experience required.
- State Requirements where specified.
- Physical Requirements: Mostly walking, talking, standing, and updating information in computer systems.
