Job Overview

SCHARP California seeks a highly skilled Mental Health Navigator to join our team. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the well-being of vulnerable populations in South Los Angeles.

About the Role

This is a dynamic opportunity for an experienced professional to make a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals struggling with mental health issues and homelessness. As a Mental Health Navigator, you will work closely with multidisciplinary treatment teams to provide targeted case management, connecting clients with essential services and support.

Responsibilities
  • Engage eligible clients and accompany them to office visits as needed.
  • Implement health promotion and self-management training programs.
  • Arrange transportation and assist with linkage to social supports.
  • Distribute health promotion materials and facilitate visits with the Lead Care Manager.
  • Connect clients to other social services and advocate on their behalf with healthcare professionals.
  • Employ motivational interviewing, trauma-informed care, and harm-reduction approaches.
  • Monitor treatment adherence and engage Certified Health Navigation strategies.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or minimum four years' equivalent experience.
  • At least one year of experience working with behavioral health populations, including homeless individuals with co-occurring disorders.

We offer a competitive salary range of $70,000 - $85,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus excellent benefits and opportunities for professional growth.
