Job Title: School Nurse

Marion P. Thomas Charter School is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated School Nurse to join our team. As a School Nurse, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of our students and staff.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct health screenings and provide health services to students and staff
  • Administer first aid and provide emergency care as needed
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date health records for all students
  • Teach health classes and coordinate with specialty area teachers to ensure a comprehensive health education
  • Participate in committee meetings and conferences to discuss health services and curriculum
  • Conduct registration of new students and determine their eligibility for enrollment in accordance with state health regulations
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Principal
Requirements:
  • Valid NJDOE School Nurse Certificate #3000 or a valid NJDOE School Nurse-Non Instructional Certificate #3010
  • Hold a valid, current New Jersey RN License; if an RN is eligible for an Emergency Certification, the candidate must provide documented proof of enrollment in a qualified program to obtain the required courses necessary for the issuance of a Standard School Nurse-Non Instructional Certificate within 3 years from the date of hire
  • Hold a current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillators (AED) certification as issued by the American Heart Association, the American Red Cross, the National Safety Council, or other entities determined by the Department of Health to comply with the American Heart Association's CPR guidelines
