Position Overview

The Sleep Study Specialist is responsible for conducting comprehensive polysomnographic assessments and interventions, ensuring high-quality patient care under the supervision of a healthcare professional.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Interaction: Engage with patients to collect detailed medical histories, physical data, and medication information, while addressing any concerns to promote comfort and cooperation.
  • Equipment Preparation: Set up and calibrate necessary equipment for testing, ensuring all devices are functioning correctly.
  • Documentation: Accurately record observations related to sleep stages, clinical occurrences, and procedural modifications to aid in the analysis of polysomnography outcomes.
  • Age-Specific Care: Demonstrate the ability to provide appropriate care tailored to patients of all age groups.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform regular cleaning and preventative maintenance on all equipment in accordance with established protocols.
  • Intervention Implementation: Execute necessary interventions for patient safety and therapeutic support, including but not limited to oxygen administration and continuous positive airway pressure therapy.
Qualifications

Applicants should possess an Associate's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. A current license to practice as a Polysomnography Technologist in New York State and a Basic Life Support Professional Certification are mandatory, along with any specialized certifications as required.

Experience: A minimum of 1-3 years in a related field is essential.
