About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cafeteria Supervisor to lead the day-to-day activities and functions within one of our 18 associate cafeterias. As a key member of our team, you will assist the Cafeteria Manager in planning and executing departmental strategies, developing hourly associates, and driving improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist supervision in the efficient operation of the department and ensure premier service to customers.
  • Monitor and execute a cafeteria's annual operating cost plan.
  • Facilitate and execute business area process changes in the cafeteria to ensure smooth transitions.

Compensation and Benefits
  • Night differential: A $.75 per hour night differential is paid to associates regularly scheduled to work any hours between midnight and 3:00 a.m.
  • Weekend premium pay: $2 per hour weekend premium pay is available.
Year-End Bonus

To reward associates for their contributions to the company for the calendar year, Publix provides a Holiday Bonus in November. The bonus amount increases with continuous employment, starting with 15 hours of pay in the first year and two weeks' pay in subsequent years.

Required Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in Culinary, Hospitality, Nutritional, or Business Management, or comparable work experience in a restaurant or cafeteria dining setting.
  • Three years of cooking experience in an environment where a variety of products and methods are used.
  • One year of leadership experience.
  • ServSafe or equivalent Food Safety Manager certification.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws pertaining to food, as well as food safety and storage requirements.
  • Ability to work a variable schedule, including holidays, nights, weekends, and extended hours.
  • Ability to be on call 24 hours/7 days a week.
  • Ability to travel with overnight stays.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate interpersonal skills, customer service skills, and conflict resolution skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Nutritional, or Business Management.
  • Four years of cooking experience in an environment where a variety of products and methods are used.
  • Two years of leadership experience.
  • Culinary or nutritional certification.
  • Knowledge of sanitation practices and Distribution Food Safety and Quality processes.
  • Knowledge of best industry practices and regulatory guidelines.
