Job Summary

The Pharmacy Technician-Level 4 (Pharmacy Technician Specialist) plays a crucial role in supporting the Pharmacist with technical and non-technical duties related to medication management, storage, and dispensing. This position requires strong organizational, prioritization, and communication skills to ensure seamless operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Pharmacist with preparing medication orders, stocking carts, and inventory management.
  • Deliver medication to nursing units and fill medication dispensing machines.
  • Perform routine clerical duties in support of operations, including preparing I.V., piggybacks, and TPNs according to established policies and procedures.
  • Work directly with the Pharmacist to perform technical and non-technical duties, leveraging the Pharmacy Service Lines' ability to optimize pharmacists.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Business/college courses preferred.
  • New Jersey Registration required; National Pharmacy Technician certification required.
  • 1 year AtlantiCare pharmacy experience required; Strong organizational, prioritization, communications, and mathematic skills required.
  • Ability to perform tasks as directed; Pharmacy Computer System experience required.
Work Environment

This position requires the ability to stand and walk 90% of the time. Requires the ability to reach, and lift up to 30 to 40 pounds. Essential functions of this position are listed on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool.

Reporting Relationship

This position reports to department leadership.
