Position Summary

We are currently seeking a proficient and experienced Fiber Optic Technician to enhance our field operations. The successful candidate will possess substantial expertise in fiber optic installation, splicing, testing, and maintenance. Responsibilities will include the installation, upkeep, and troubleshooting of fiber optic networks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute the installation, splicing, and testing of fiber optic cables and associated equipment in various locations.
  • Conduct comprehensive testing of fiber optic cables utilizing OTDRs, power meters, and other relevant tools.
  • Address service requests from clients promptly, diagnose technical challenges, and escalate issues as necessary.
  • Perform routine maintenance on fiber optic systems and report any potential concerns to management.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and quality assurance standards.
  • Maintain detailed records of tasks completed, materials utilized, and other pertinent information.
  • Collaborate with engineering and construction teams to facilitate fiber optic network installations.
  • Oversee the inventory of fiber optic tools and equipment.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of fiber optic technology and network systems.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and dependable transportation.
  • Ability to work autonomously, manage priorities, and adhere to deadlines.
  • Willingness to be on-call and work outside standard hours as required.
