Stealth Communications is seeking multiple postdoctoral researchers to advance our quantum-secure communication protocols and systems, at the intersection of post-quantum and quantum cryptography. This role combines theoretical research and practical experimentation on Stealth's quantum optical testbed (~5000 km: land + subsea assets), pushing the boundaries of cryptographic innovation.
This position requires security clearance and is based onsite in Pensacola, FL.
Qualifications:
- Required: An active, transferable TS/SCI CI Poly U.S. government-issued security clearance prior to commencement.
- PhD in Quantum Cryptography, Quantum Information Theory, or a closely related field.
- 5 years post-doctoral experience in a competitive quantum cryptography/information research group.
- Deep expertise in lattice-based cryptography, advanced encryption, and signature schemes.
- Working knowledge of semi-definite programming and numerical optimization techniques.
- Experience with fine-grained cryptography and impossibility results.
- Experience in designing and analyzing homomorphic, attribute-based, functional encryption, and signature schemes (e.g., ring, group, threshold).
- Published research in cryptography.
- In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP.
- Proficiency in C++ and ASM programming.
- Advanced technical knowledge in application and hardware security.
- Strongly preferred:
- -- Advanced technical knowledge in Electromagnetism and quantum algorithms/materials.
- -- Experience with quantum optics and laboratory apparatus, including SPDC entanglement sources, single-photon detectors, and Bell-state measurement systems.
- -- Expertise in low and room temperature qubit measurements, including MKS systems.
- -- Proficiency in cryogenics, lithography, and fiber optics.
- Experience with computer-aided design (CAD) for advanced quantum systems.
- Familiarity with NSTISSAM TEMPEST/1-92 and CNSSAM TEMPEST/01-02 specifications.
- Effectively communicate technical and non-technical information verbally and in writing to diverse audiences.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct advanced research in lattice-based cryptography, focusing on its potential to secure quantum communications and resist quantum attacks.
- Design, implement, and analyze cryptographic protocols using non-standard lattice assumptions, ensuring they meet the highest security standards.
- Lead the integration of cryptographic primitives into Stealth’s Quantum Framework, optimizing for security and efficiency.
- Prototype, test, and deploy lattice-based cryptographic solutions in operational quantum environments.
- Collaborate with academia, cryptographers, and auditors to validate and refine cutting-edge cryptographic methods.
- Implement cryptography specifications into secure, production-level code within the Quantum Framework.
- Provide expert support for the integration of quantum-resistant protocols across Stealth’s technology stack.
- Document research findings, code, and APIs thoroughly, contributing to the academic and practical discourse on quantum-resistant cryptography.
- Capable of independent work and collaboration within a diverse and multidisciplinary team, including scientists, engineers, business professionals, and ex-military personnel
This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge advancements in quantum cryptography and secure communications technology for land, subsea, and space operations using Stealth's internal assets.
Salary starting at $250,000 + Sign-On Bonus of $250,000.
