Job Title: Hazmat Tanker CDL Class A Truck Driver

Job Summary:

Vanguard Freightways is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Hazmat Tanker CDL Class A Truck Driver to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transport of hazardous materials using a tanker truck. You must ensure compliance with all DOT regulations and safety protocols while delivering exceptional service to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate a Class A CDL commercial truck, including tankers.
  • Transport and deliver hazardous materials in accordance with DOT regulations and company policies.
  • Load, transport, and unload liquid or bulk hazardous materials.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and maintenance.
  • Ensure proper handling of hazardous materials, including securing loads and following proper spill procedures.
  • Complete and maintain all required paperwork, such as bills of lading, delivery reports, and HAZMAT documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines, including proper use of PPE and following protocols for handling hazardous substances.

Requirements:

  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with HAZMAT and Tanker endorsements.
  • Minimum of 2 years of verifiable driving experience with a clean driving record.
  • Current DOT Medical Card.
  • Experience with hazardous material transport.
  • Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and safety practices.
  • Ability to pass a background check, drug screening, and road test.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and handle equipment such as hoses and pumps.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in liquid bulk transportation.
  • Knowledge of hazardous materials emergency response procedures.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
