Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to serve as the Director of the Financial Analysis and Compliance Office (FACO) at Penn State University. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the FACO team in ensuring the proper monitoring and management of restricted grants and contracts, as well as identifying areas for improvement in our post-award compliance processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise the Financial Analysis and Compliance Office (FACO) team, including developing procedures for supporting post-award compliance and implementing recommendations from audits and reviews.
  • Develop and provide outreach and education about policy interpretation, cost share, and account management to the Penn State research community.
  • Recommend and implement procedures to ensure uniform and efficient accounting practices, internal controls, and compliance with regulations and University policy.
  • Prepare special reports and provide information to internal and external customers.
  • Stay current on new and emerging sponsor requirements, university policies, and state and federal regulations regarding sponsored project administration.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree and ten years of relevant experience, including at least three years of supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Research administration and/or accounting experience is required.
  • Experience with SIMBA (SAP/S4HANA) is preferred.
