About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Aftercare Program Coordinator to join our team at UNC Children's Hospital. As a key member of our support team, you will play a vital role in providing psychosocial support to pediatric oncology patients and their families.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized and group supportive care programs for pediatric patients and their families.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless delivery of care and services.
  • Recruit and manage volunteers to support program activities.
  • Plan and execute events, retreats, and support groups to promote patient and family well-being.
  • Provide education and resources to patients, families, and healthcare providers on psychosocial support and coping strategies.
  • Conduct assessments and develop plans to address the unique needs of each patient and family.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance program effectiveness and patient satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Child Life Nursing, Social Work, or Chaplaincy.
  • 2 years of experience in a related field, preferably in pediatric oncology or child life therapy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
