Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the financial performance of the assigned portfolio. The underwriter will oversee a renewal book while actively engaging with new business submissions.
  • Achieve or surpass financial objectives, including rate, growth, profitability, retention, and new business acquisition.
  • Maintain or exceed established service standards.
  • Primarily responsible for account solicitation, risk evaluation and documentation, pricing, and sales of technology-related products and services for both new and existing clients.
  • Engage with new and renewing clients and agents/brokers to negotiate coverage, pricing, financial terms, and service delivery.
  • Foster relationships with agents/brokers to meet or exceed financial targets and develop effective business strategies for assigned agents/brokers and territories.
  • Collaborate efficiently with a team of underwriters, underwriting associates, customer service representatives, claims examiners, and loss control specialists.
  • Enhance the technical skills of underwriting associates.
  • Leverage agency travel to cultivate a strong prospect pipeline.
Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess the following qualifications:
  • Exceptional sales, marketing, and negotiation capabilities.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial lines underwriting is preferred.
  • Experience in technology underwriting is advantageous.
  • Proven success in establishing robust business relationships with agents and clients.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in complex account analysis, prioritization, organization, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment, utilizing various internal and external resources effectively.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant business software.
  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
The compensation range for this role is between $71,500 and $115,000, with specific offers contingent upon the applicant's skills and other relevant factors. This position may also qualify for participation in a discretionary annual incentive program. Chubb provides a comprehensive benefits package, details of which can be found on our careers website. The disclosed pay range may be adjusted based on geographic differentials for the location where the position is filled.
