The Department of Workforce Services (DWS) is in search of a Facilities Operations Supervisor. This role is ideal for a management professional with a solid background in construction and facilities oversight, looking for a rewarding career opportunity.

Key Responsibilities
Individuals in this role will be tasked with the coordination and administration of maintenance and enhancements for state-owned and leased properties on behalf of the agency.

Specific Duties Include:

  • Overseeing subordinate staff, which includes hiring, assigning workloads, training, monitoring performance, and implementing corrective or disciplinary measures.
  • Formulating, assessing, or reviewing plans and criteria for various facility projects and activities; evaluating the feasibility of facility project requests.
  • Creating effective safety and service plans to mitigate risks and ensure protection.
  • Engaging in the planning, design, construction, and upkeep of facilities. Gathering and documenting quotes/bids, assessing proposals for compliance with specifications, and making award recommendations.
  • Approving and executing relevant documents, actions, processes, and programs.
  • Conducting reviews and inspections of work to ensure quality, accuracy, and completeness.
  • Facilitating communication and coordination between the agency and other organizations, work units, and suppliers.
  • Ensuring adherence to applicable federal and state laws, regulations, and agency standards.
  • Coordinating the creation of comprehensive facility master plans.
  • Maintaining and updating the Department's Continuity of Operations Plan and associated training.
  • Addressing all facility-related risks identified in annual assessments.
  • Providing recommendations regarding agency facility lease renewals and state facility capital improvement initiatives.
  • Reviewing and approving procurement requests related to facilities.
  • Managing one or more statewide or agency-wide programs.

Ideal Candidate Profile
The perfect candidate for this position will possess experience in:

  • Overseeing facility construction and building reconfigurations.
  • Utilizing AutoCAD for floor planning.
  • Continuity of Operations Planning.
