Role of the Retail Team

The retail team at Cheekwood manages three distinct gift shops on the premises. The Garden Gift Shop offers gardening tools, décor, and children's items, while the Mansion Gift Shop features jewelry, art, and unique gifts. The Holiday Shop caters to seasonal shoppers with holiday merchandise and outdoor s'mores kits. The shops operate during designated hours, and we seek individuals with both daytime and evening availability.

Your Responsibilities

As a representative of Cheekwood, you will deliver exceptional customer service, maintain store organization, process transactions, and monitor sales to meet financial objectives.

Key Duties Include:

  • Welcoming visitors and providing outstanding customer service with a friendly demeanor.
  • Executing opening and closing procedures for the gift shops.
  • Ensuring the store and stockroom are tidy and organized.
  • Unpacking, pricing, and stocking merchandise according to store standards.
  • Utilizing the Point of Sale system to complete sales and returns.
  • Tracking individual and store sales to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly targets.

Qualifications:

  • Prior customer service experience is essential; retail experience is preferred.
  • A friendly, service-oriented attitude with strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently while remaining productive and motivated.
  • Flexible schedule with availability to work 16-28 hours weekly, including nights and weekends.
  • Willingness to stand or walk for extended periods.
  • This is a seasonal position.
