We are currently seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician to join our team in Okinawa, Japan.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Certified Pharmacy Technician to support our client in Okinawa, Japan. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a full range of pharmacy technician procedures, including pharmaceutical dispensing duties, information consultation duties, and quality improvement duties. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pharmacy technology and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform a full range of pharmacy technician procedures, including filling new outpatient prescriptions, refilling prescriptions, and entering orders into databases.
  • Perform pharmaceutical dispensing duties, including supporting new and refill prescriptions, supporting patient requests, and monitoring for drug interactions.
  • Perform information consultation duties, including supporting physician's requests, monitoring for drug interactions, and reporting adverse drug reactions.
  • Perform quality improvement duties, including performing drug storage inspection, reviewing expired supplies, and producing error and workload reports and documentation.
  • Assist with supply process duties, including assisting with stocking/restocking shelves, inventory maintenance, and producing not in stock reports as directed by Government Supervisor.
  • Utilize pharmacy computer and robotic systems in accordance with MTF protocols.
  • Participate in executing the Emergency Preparedness Plan (drills and actual emergencies) as scheduled by the MTF (typically semiannually).
  • Participate in peer review and performance improvement activities.
  • Participate in the implementation of the Family Advocacy Program as directed by government supervisor.
  • Perform timely, accurate, and concise documentation of patient care.
  • Maintain documentation of all treatment provided in accordance with clinic directives and prepare such records and reports as may be required.
Requirements:
  • Possess and maintain a current certification and registration by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).
  • HCW shall be in good standing, and under no restrictions, with the state licensure board in any state in which a license is held or has been held within the last 10 years.
  • HCW shall be in good standing and under no sanction or suspension by the Federal Government.
  • Possess and maintain current certification in either the American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers or American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Course.
  • Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language fluently and maintain good communication skills with patients and other health care personnel.
  • Ability to pass all background/suitability checks.
  • A valid driver's license; ability to travel locally as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • A thorough understanding of the military lifestyle and experience working with military family members.
  • Working knowledge of relevant military, state, federal, and local laws and resources.
  • Highly developed written, oral, and presentation communication skills.
