Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Sales Associate to join our team at Ace Hardware. As a Sales Associate, you will play a key role in providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a clean and organized store environment, and assisting with sales floor operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service:
    • Provide a positive representation of Ace Hardware and its values.
    • Proactively assist customers in solving problems and addressing their needs.
    • Greet customers entering and throughout the store, thank them when finished, and when they are leaving the store.
    • Possess a friendly, outgoing demeanor and work well with customers and associates.
    • Ensure all customer interactions are prompt, courteous, and effective.
    • Forward any customer complaints that cannot be handled to a member of management.
    • Possess strong product knowledge and knowledge of store layout and location of products.
    • Assist customers throughout the store with personalized, customized service based on the premise of delivering an exceptional customer experience.
  • Store Operations:
    • Assist in creating a positive, professional, and safe work environment.
    • Assist with stocking merchandise throughout the store.
    • Assist with maintaining back stock levels.
    • Assist with daily maintenance, orderliness, and cleanliness of the sales floor, stock room, and outdoor merchandise area.
    • Assist with providing a clean and orderly sales floor, including end caps and ad merchandise.
    • Assist with merchandise resets throughout the store.
    • Provide assistance to Department Specialists, such as price changes and special orders.
    • Ensure signage is current throughout the store.
    • Operate a forklift with proper training.
    • Communicate any Store Support Center issues to the General Manager for follow-up.
    • Communicate any merchandising, cost control, or sales ideas to the General Manager.
    • Participate in store meetings.
    • Be professional in appearance and actions.
    • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High School or GED equivalent.
  • Formal retail experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of computer, tablets, and smartphone technology, including Office.
  • Ability to stand, walk, lift (up to 50lbs), and climb.
