Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Inventory Associate to join our team at Whole Foods Market. As an Inventory Associate, you will be responsible for ensuring that our store's inventory is accurately managed and that our customers have access to a wide range of products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Purchase and replenish produce through proper buying procedures to ensure optimal inventory levels and minimize waste.
  • Monitor and act upon open PO reports for both purchases and credits in a timely and accurate manner to maintain inventory control.
  • Control spoilage and shrink, achieve turn goals, and participate in inventory management to ensure maximum sales potential.
  • Complete spoilage, sampling, temperature, and sweep worksheets as required to maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Maximize sales potential through effective and proper procedures for stocking and merchandising products to meet customer demands.
  • Ensure orders for product are timely and accurate to monitor inventory turns and maintain optimal inventory levels.
  • Oversee customer special order procedure to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of customer requests.
  • Analyze and control product transfers, waste, and spoilage to minimize losses and maximize sales potential.
  • Support leadership in conducting inventories to ensure accurate and up-to-date inventory records.
  • Maintain financial profitability by meeting and exceeding purchasing and sales targets to ensure the success of the store.
  • Arrive to work station on time, appropriately groomed, dressed, and ready to work; work all scheduled shifts and attend required trainings and meetings to ensure a positive and productive work environment.
  • Provide excellent customer service, address needs of customers in a timely and effective manner, and model suggestive selling techniques to ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Maximize sales potential through effective and proper procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product to meet customer demands.
  • Follow and comply with established procedures, including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Maintain, or ensure maintenance of, a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment to ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Perform opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned to ensure accurate and efficient store operations.
  • Immediately report safety hazards and violations to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by store, regional, or national leadership to ensure the success of the store.
Requirements
  • 12+ months retail experience.
Working Conditions
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • In an 8-hour work day: standing/walking 6-8 hours.
  • Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling.
  • Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching.
  • Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals.
  • Exposure to temperatures: 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Ability to work in wet and dry conditions.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to use tools and equipment, including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery.
  • May require use of ladders.
