Substance Abuse Counselor Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team at Spectrum Health Systems. As a Counselor, you will be responsible for facilitating group programming and meetings, individual counseling sessions, case management services, and clinical documentation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and individual treatment plans within established timeframes.
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary treatment planning, case reviews, and conferences.
  • Work closely with the Virginia Department of Corrections personnel to ensure quality delivery of services and promote a healing environment.


Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Services field is required.
  • State certification as a Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) in the state of Virginia or similar certification/license recognized by the Virginia Board of Professional Counselors is required within two (2) years of signing job description.
  • Experience working in the substance abuse treatment field is preferred.
