Compensation Details
Annual Salary Range: $107,550 - $133,524 (C01.3)

Position Summary

We are seeking a mid to senior-level Financial Analyst to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced setting. In this role, you will independently conduct budget analyses and manage resources, offering insights on intricate financial and operational matters while overseeing both direct and indirect budgets. This position supports various departments under the Director's Office within the Budget/Director's Office division of the Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO).

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently create and evaluate intricate financial plans and provide management with actionable recommendations.
  • Collect and scrutinize diverse financial data related to funding and workforce issues; investigate discrepancies and implement necessary corrective measures.
  • Formulate and convey decisions within your authority, offering consultation on financial processes and improvements.
  • Conduct self-assessments and represent the organization during financial audits.
  • Develop essential institutional metrics and financial indicators, collaborating with analysts to ensure alignment with the Institutional Work Breakdown Structure.
  • Draft policies and procedures that impact the organization, ensuring compliance with federal financial regulations and standards.
  • Represent the department in committees and lead initiatives to devise innovative solutions to complex challenges.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with clients, colleagues, and financial managers across the Laboratory.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DOE) Q-level security clearance.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience in finance/accounting.
  • Extensive experience in analyzing and presenting financial data.
  • Proficient in financial functions, including knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Experience in conducting self-assessments and participating in audits.
  • Advanced skills in developing and managing financial databases and spreadsheets.
  • Demonstrated expertise in decision-making and problem-solving, with the ability to negotiate favorable outcomes.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for delivering financial briefings and reports.
  • Ability to foster relationships and build consensus among diverse stakeholders.
