Role SummaryAs a Mobility Transport Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and dignified transportation of individuals with mobility challenges. Your role is crucial in ensuring that passengers are loaded and unloaded from vehicles equipped with specialized lift platforms for stretchers, gurneys, and wheelchairs.
Key Responsibilities- Operate para-lift vehicles with a focus on safety and efficiency.
- Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles and lift equipment to ensure operational safety.
- Assist passengers during boarding and disembarking, ensuring secure use of lifts and restraints.
- Plan and navigate the most efficient routes while adhering to traffic regulations.
- Maintain open communication with dispatch regarding passenger status and any potential delays.
- Keep accurate records of travel logs, vehicle maintenance, and fuel usage.
- Deliver exceptional customer service, maintaining a respectful demeanor with all passengers.
- Implement emergency procedures as necessary.
- Comply with all company policies regarding vehicle operation.
- Ensure the vehicle is kept clean and hygienic at all times.
- Participate in all required training and certification programs.
- Report any incidents or vehicle damages to management promptly.
- Adhere to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and other relevant regulations.
- Utilize accessibility features of the vehicle to accommodate various mobility devices.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Successful completion of a drug screening and criminal background check.
- Possession of a valid driver's license with appropriate endorsements.
- Maintain a clear Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) during employment.
- No license suspensions or revocations for moving violations in the past three years.
- Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly and up to 100 lbs. occasionally.
- Ability to assist passengers in safe transfers between seated and lying positions.
