School Health Program Coordinator

Job Summary:
This is a rewarding opportunity to serve as a School Health Program Coordinator with the Calumet City School District 155. We are seeking a licensed registered nurse to join our team and provide high-quality health services to students and staff.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating school health programs, providing professional nursing services, and promoting health and wellness among students and staff. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and parents, and possess a strong commitment to delivering quality healthcare services.
Responsibilities:
- Collect and analyze epidemiological data to inform school health initiatives
- Participate in accident prevention plans to ensure a safe learning environment
- Conduct health assessments and screenings to identify health needs and develop targeted interventions
- Develop and implement health-related policies and procedures to promote student health and well-being
- Provide staff training and education on health topics, including first aid and emergency care
- Administer medication and maintain accurate medical records
- Collaborate with community health agencies to provide referrals and support for students and families
- Maintain confidentiality and develop individualized health care plans for students with special needs
- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in school health
Working Conditions:
The School Health Program Coordinator will work in a fast-paced educational setting, requiring flexibility and adaptability. The successful candidate will need to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and have fine motor dexterity to perform tasks related to record-keeping and data entry.
Requirements:
- Licensed registered nurse in the State of Illinois
- Baccalaureate degree in nursing (preferred)
- Current first aid and CPR certification
- School Nurse PEL (required)
Salary and Benefits:
The salary for this position is $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience. Additionally, the Calumet City School District 155 offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance, as well as paid time off and retirement savings opportunities.
