Position Overview

The Senior Director, Technology plays a pivotal role in shaping, advancing, and promoting the technology and development practice at OX. This position is also aimed at supporting the leadership team in driving organizational growth, profitability, operational excellence, and strategic business initiatives. Reporting directly to the Co-CEO, this role is vital for the success of OX.

This position demands a visionary leader who can craft and implement the strategic direction for all technology initiatives. The Senior Director will oversee development and product teams, guiding client engagements through human-centered methodologies that utilize a range of complex digital technologies to address business challenges. The ideal candidate will not only demonstrate expertise in integrating large-scale web and emerging technologies but will also possess the ability to simplify complex technology solutions for clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Make significant contributions to the overall strategic and business goals of OX.
  • Ensure successful delivery of all technology projects at OX.
  • Drive the growth and profitability of the technology practice.
  • Manage operations within the Technology practice, maintaining an optimal balance of capacity, utilization, and profit margins.
  • Achieve operational maturity by implementing best practices related to processes, workflows, documentation, and standards.
  • Assess client technology systems and processes against business objectives, recommending new technologies, systems, or processes to achieve desired transformations.
  • Support business development efforts related to technology and development, contributing expertise to project estimates, solution recommendations, proposal development, and pitch presentations.
  • Provide oversight and guidance on OX's Information Technology (IT) infrastructure, systems, governance, management, and support.
  • Develop and expand OX's digital and technology partner program, fostering new business opportunities and ensuring continuous growth in expertise and innovation.
  • Promote team health and excellence within the Technology practice.
  • Contribute to hiring, career path management, and recognition plans within the Technology practice.
  • Build and maintain a robust network for web and application development talent, both domestically and internationally.
  • Establish and refine OX's philosophies, processes, and methodologies for delivering human-centered technology solutions.
  • Engage in thought leadership initiatives across various platforms, including podcasts, industry events, and white papers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Degree in a relevant field, such as Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
  • 12+ years of experience in designing system architectures and delivering interactive products, web applications, content management systems, and large-scale data-driven technology solutions.
  • Proven expertise in B2C and B2B technology assessment, architecture, design, and development, with proficiency in programming languages such as PHP, .Net, Java, C#, and C++.
  • In-depth understanding of enterprise eCommerce solutions from leading platform vendors.
  • Extensive experience with digital experience platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team of software developers, system architects, business analysts, and consultants in successful technology solution development.
  • Strong grasp of modern programming techniques for multi-device applications.
  • Exceptional ability to translate business objectives into actionable technology strategies.
  • Strong user-centered design orientation.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Willingness to travel for client meetings or presentations.

  • Development of a clear and repeatable set of technology service offerings and processes.
