Job Title: Advertising Principles and Practices Instructor

UCLA Extension is seeking a qualified instructor to teach a course on advertising principles and practices. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in advertising and media, as well as excellent teaching and communication skills.

Course Description:

This course takes a comprehensive look at the principles and practices of advertising, including digital, mobile, and social media advertising. Students will learn about the importance of traditional advertising components, such as television, magazine, and outdoor advertising, and how to effectively integrate them with digital and social media campaigns. The course will also cover target audience development, product positioning, creative messaging, media strategies, and campaign execution.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and update course syllabus in consultation with the UCLA Extension Program Director
  • Prepare and deliver course materials and learning assessments
  • Utilize the Canvas Learning Management System as the course support platform
  • Communicate teaching objectives and specific learning outcomes to students
  • Evaluate student achievement of specific learning outcomes and assign grades
  • Post final student grades to the transcript system in a timely manner
  • Respond to student questions and learning needs in a timely manner
  • Stay current regarding the professional body of knowledge in the field of practice
  • Participate in required orientations and instructor training programs
  • Complete required administrative tasks in a timely manner
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in advertising, marketing, or a related field
  • Strong background in advertising and media
  • Excellent teaching and communication skills
  • Ability to utilize the Canvas Learning Management System
