About the Role:

The Senior Systems Engineer will be responsible for implementing and maintaining our systems software and infrastructure, ensuring the highest levels of availability and performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement new systems software and modifications without adverse effects on current production or testing.
  • Assist with management and monitoring of installed systems and infrastructure.
  • Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability.
  • Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with developers to implement those fixes.
  • Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies.
  • Prepare material for Systems Analysts, Programmers, and Operations personnel that describes effects and new requirements resulting from changes to system software.
  • Provide 2nd and 3rd level support.
  • Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to application development staff.
  • Define and enforce appropriate technical standards and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred; Concentration in business and/or computer science or related disciplines or equivalent experience.
  • At least 4 years of relevant experience in system administration or system engineering.
  • English Language Proficiency both written and verbal.
Preferred Skills and Attributes:
  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • 7 to 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure and system administration.
  • Proficiency in virtual environments (VMware, Hyper-V), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Experience with configuration management (Ansible, Puppet, Chef), CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI), and scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of network protocols, database management (SQL, NoSQL), and ITIL best practices.
