Responsibilities

As a Registered Nurse on our Mother Baby Unit, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and ensuring seamless transitions of care. You will work closely with patients and families to identify their needs, develop personalized care plans, and provide education on various aspects of health and wellness.

Essential Key Job Responsibilities
  • Utilize the nursing process to deliver cost-effective, quality-driven patient care that meets individualized needs.
  • Collect and document comprehensive data from patients, significant others, and healthcare team members to inform care decisions.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based interventions to promote optimal patient outcomes.
  • Provide effective teaching and information to patients and families on topics such as pain management, nutrition, skin integrity, fall prevention, diabetes, disease process, smoking cessation, and discharge instructions.
  • Demonstrate commitment to patient safety, confidentiality, and ethical decision-making while maintaining a focus on cost containment measures.
  • Cultivate research opportunities and collaborate with Outcomes managers and department to enhance nursing practice and patient outcomes.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, evaluate the effectiveness of nursing practice, and contribute to data analysis and action planning to improve care quality.
Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Required Licensure and Certifications:

Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas; BLS; Based on location assignment, may also require BLS, ACLS, and/or PALS
