We are seeking a skilled Fire Alarm Systems Engineer to join our team at Johnson Controls. As an integral part of our operations, you will be responsible for designing, installing, testing, and maintaining fire alarm systems in various settings.

About the Role:

This is a challenging position that requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities. You will work closely with customers to understand their needs and provide solutions that meet or exceed their expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and install fire alarm systems, including panel programming and configuration;
  • Maintain and repair existing fire alarm systems, ensuring they operate within regulatory requirements;
  • Test and inspect fire alarm systems to ensure they function correctly;
  • Collaborate with customers to identify system improvements and implement them as needed;
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date with industry advancements;

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in low-voltage electrical systems, including fire/life safety systems;
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; a degree in electronics, network, computer science, or a related field is preferred;
  • NICET level II certification or ability to obtain within the first year;
  • Strong understanding of network concepts and architectures;
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, submittals, and operational/product manuals;
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record;
  • Able to pass a pre-employment background and drug test;
  • Able to obtain and retain any licenses required by national, state, and local codes.
