JOB PURPOSE:

Oversee the management of general liability claims under the guidance of the Senior Claims Director. Provide regular updates and comprehensive reporting. Responsible for coordination, database management, and various projects as assigned by the management team.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Receive initial notifications of claims and assist employees in effectively managing the situations. Conduct thorough investigations into claims to determine cause, compensability, and liability. Monitor the collection of necessary documentation for all claims, establish claim files, and input information into the Risk Management Information System (RMIS) upon receipt. Supervise the reporting of claims to insurance carriers. Relay essential information to insurance providers and maintain precise documentation of claims by archiving all related paperwork in RMIS. Actively monitor open claims and liaise with insurance carriers, medical professionals, and other third parties to ensure proactive management of claims. Negotiate, resolve, and process payments for minor claims. Manage third-party subrogation claims for which the organization is not liable. Prepare operational and risk reports for management review. Supply benchmarking data as required. Assess and categorize risks based on frequency and potential severity, and evaluate the financial implications of risks on the organization. Address inquiries and concerns from customers, regulatory bodies, and members of the business community. Identify trends and collaborate with the Safety Department to pinpoint safety issues contributing to frequency and severity in the organization's auto, workers' compensation, and property damage losses. Compile quarterly loss data on recordable and preventable incidents. Classify injuries according to governmental and organizational criteria. Monitor lost/restricted days. Administer self-insured workers' compensation claims in accordance with state standards. Ensure that state-specific information received from the carrier is communicated to the relevant area office. Participate in safety incident reviews and update the RMIS accordingly. Attend safety meetings and compliance training sessions to provide field personnel with information regarding damage reporting. Willingness to travel up to 10%. Additional duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Certifications

Required : High school diploma with significant post-secondary coursework.

Preferred : Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.

Experience

Required : 4 + years of experience in general liability claims and/or construction safety.

Preferred : 7+ years of experience with multi-line coverage in a construction environment.

Functional / Technical Competency Requirements

Required : Proficient in general computer applications including MS Outlook, Word, and Excel. Familiarity with general liability coverage. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Demonstrated sense of urgency in addressing inquiries and complaints. Capable of effectively presenting data to management teams, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
