Northside Hospital is a leading healthcare provider, renowned for its cutting-edge facilities and commitment to excellence. As a Pulmonary Procedure Specialist - Respiratory Therapist, you will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to delivering top-notch care to patients across various age groups.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Training and Development: Provide comprehensive training to designated respiratory therapists on a tri-campus basis, equipping them to assist physicians with diagnostic and therapeutic pulmonary procedures.
  2. Technical Expertise: Maintain and enhance your competencies as a respiratory therapist, performing duties as requested and serving as a technical resource for respiratory therapists.
  3. Education and Training: Deliver in-service education to staff on a tricampus basis, focusing on diagnostic and therapeutic pulmonary procedures performed in operative and procedural areas.
  4. Inventory Management: Maintain an accurate inventory of bronchoscopic supplies and accessories.
  5. Operative Support: Train designated respiratory therapists to assist and assist surgeons in the operating room setting with procedures such as transbronchial needle aspirations, argon plasma coagulation, tumor debridement, and pulmonary dilatation.
  6. Safety and Compliance: Practice proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures, reporting any mechanical or electrical equipment malfunctions, unsafe conditions, or employee/patient/visitor injury accidents to manager and completing incident reports.
  7. Interventional Therapies: Provide assistance or assist with interventional therapeutic pulmonary procedures on a tri-campus basis.
Requirements
  1. Education: Successful completion of an accredited program in respiratory therapy, cardiovascular, or a related field.
  2. Certifications: One of the following: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist (RPFT), or Registered Cardio-Pulmonary Technologist (RCPT).
  3. Experience: Two (2) years' experience in pulmonary, with strong experience in bronchoscopy procedures.
  4. Current Practice: Must be currently practicing in the field of Respiratory Therapy.
  5. Certifications: BCLS certified.
