Job Responsibilities:

The role involves hands-on laboratory work focusing on advanced technology for studying intermolecular interactions and measuring the binding affinity of biotherapeutic drugs to specific proteins in human biological samples. This may include the labeling of biotherapeutics with radioisotopes and the analysis of radioactive biological specimens.

The successful candidate will engage in all aspects of laboratory operations, including:
  • Designing protein reagents for binding studies
  • Conducting binding assays with minimal supervision, demonstrating initiative in method development
  • Analyzing radioactive biological samples using scintillation counting or gamma counters
  • Independently operating, calibrating, maintaining, and troubleshooting binding instruments
  • Interpreting binding data and calculating binding affinities using appropriate software
  • Handling biological samples, including human and preclinical serum and tissues
  • Summarizing findings and preparing reports

Qualifications:
  • BS/MS degree in Analytical Sciences, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, Pharmacology, or a related field; advanced degrees are advantageous
  • Willingness to work with radioactive materials
  • Preferred industry experience in biopharmaceuticals
  • Meticulous attention to detail, capable of managing delicate instruments to yield reproducible results
  • Strong analytical and biochemistry background; understanding of binding affinity concepts is beneficial
  • Ability to learn quickly and master instrument operation and maintenance post-training
  • Proactive problem-solving skills at both technical and intellectual levels
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • Strong organizational and data analysis skills
