The Housekeeper is responsible for performing daily cleaning tasks to maintain the appealing appearance of the community and its living spaces.

This role includes providing exceptional laundry services to residents and ensuring that an adequate supply of linens and laundry is available for all departments at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct general cleaning duties, which include making beds, changing bed and bath linens, organizing clothing, and cleaning living areas.
  • Manage laundry tasks, such as washing, drying, ironing, and folding community linens, towels, and sheets, as well as residents' personal laundry, ensuring timely return to the appropriate units.
  • Maintain cleanliness in common areas, including the lobby, library, activity room, resident units, employee lounge, dining area, offices, and other spaces by:
    • Vacuuming all carpeted areas and performing deep cleaning as assigned.
    • Sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping floors in common areas and restrooms.
    • Dusting and disinfecting all furniture, handrails, and common area items, such as pictures, shelves, light fixtures, mirrors, and other wall decor.
    • Cleaning and disinfecting doors, doorways, stairways, door handles, chair rails, baseboards, and walls.
    • Cleaning, disinfecting, and stocking public restrooms.
    • Cleaning all glass surfaces.
    • Emptying wastebaskets and trash containers, and replacing liners.

Ensure that the housekeeping cart is stocked with supplies at the end of each shift.

Adhere to all infection control protocols and established policies and procedures.

Maintain an inventory of housekeeping and laundry supplies and inform the supervisor of any needs.

Assist in the orientation and training of new team members.

Foster positive resident relations by responding promptly and positively to resident requests.

Job Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.

One to three months of related experience and/or training.
