POSITION SUMMARY:

The Clinical Nutrition Specialist serves as a vital resource and consultant for the healthcare team, ensuring optimal nutritional care for patients.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Deliver comprehensive nutritional assessments and develop tailored Nutrition Care Plans.
  • Provide counseling and education to patients, families, and healthcare associates regarding dietary needs and nutrition-related health issues.
  • Facilitate educational programs and workshops on various nutritional subjects to enhance community awareness and knowledge.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics or a related discipline that aligns with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics standards, obtained through an accredited four-year program.
  • A Master's degree or Advanced Practice Certification is preferred.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of chemistry, physiology, caloric and nutrient values, and the physical properties of food, alongside expertise in medical nutrition therapy.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, comprehend medical terminology, and follow both oral and written instructions; proficient in arithmetic calculations and possess strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Exhibit high-level interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with medical professionals, nursing staff, patients, and their families.
CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must hold the Registered Dietitian or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist credential from the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
