The Underwriting Assistant will play a crucial role in aiding an underwriter with the evaluation and processing of insurance applications, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring meticulous record-keeping.
Key Responsibilities:
- Examine and process insurance applications, ensuring the collection and verification of all required documentation. Confirm that all details are complete and accurate prior to submission to underwriters.
- Assist in the issuance and modification of policies, endorsements, and renewals. Monitor policy adjustments and maintain current records within the underwriting database.
- Provide comprehensive administrative assistance to the underwriter, which includes organizing meetings, drafting correspondence, and managing documentation.
Required Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in an Underwriting Assistant position or a comparable role.
- Experience in Excess and Surplus lines is essential.
- On-site presence for 3-4 days a week is necessary.
