Job Description

WL Plastics LLC is seeking a Quality Assurance Manager to oversee the quality of pipe produced at a manufacturing plant.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate the quality of pipe produced at the manufacturing plant.
  • Report to the Plant Manager and Corporate Quality Director.
  • Train and supervise quality control technicians.
  • Ensure all training is documented.
  • Oversee product compliance with the WL Plastics Quality Program.
  • Conduct tests on products and product samples.
  • Evaluate test results and determine product conformance or non-conformance.
  • Communicate product quality determinations with plant management.
  • Maintain records of quality tests, production, and product conformance.
  • Verify production quantities and prepare quality certifications.
  • Maintain laboratory and quality equipment certifications.

Requirements:

  • Preferred candidates will have at least two years of post-High School technical school or college education in an industrial, technical, math, science, or management course of study, or equivalent, relevant experience.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or a non-U.S. citizen having legal status to reside and work in the U.S. for reasons other than practical training.
  • Proven leadership, persuasive, initiative, adaptability, and communication skills are necessary for success in this position.
  • Must be able to work safely in a production environment and be physically capable of performing job-related tasks and job duties.
  • Must have excellent communication skills.

  • Good organizational skills, ability to determine priorities, manage time properly, and multi-task.
  • Adherence to Quality Policy and ISO 9001 Procedural requirements.
  • Basic computer skills (MS Windows, MS Excel, MS Word, Outlook).
  • Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.
  • Accountable for understanding and putting into practice the SHE Principles.

Work Environment:

  • The position combines hands-on management, technical analysis, and administrative tasks.
  • Time will be spent among office, production floor, and lab areas.
  • Work closely with quality control technicians, plant manager, production manager, production supervisors, production staff, shipping staff, maintenance staff, and other personnel as required.

Training:

  • The company provides training in safety, lab equipment operation, quality procedures, quality tool operation, and quality requirements.
  • Management training may be provided when possible.

Advancement:

  • Potential to advance to a higher-level position at your current location, another facility, or a subsidiary location within the company.

Travel Requirements:

  • Travel is not usually required.
  • Travel to other cities or manufacturing facilities may be necessary for meeting, training, or benchmarking purposes.
