About the Role

We are looking for a talented Senior Project Manager to lead our structural steel projects at Shepard Steel Co, Inc.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the structural steel scope of work from contract award to closeout.

You will serve as the liaison between our client, team members, vendors, and subcontractors, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement project schedules to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality results.
  • Collaborate with the project detailer to ensure accurate and timely delivery of shop drawings.
  • Coordinate with construction managers and other trades to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Manage submittals, RFIs, and other project documentation to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Monitor project costs and ensure they remain within budget.
  • Track and report on project progress, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Lead weekly production meetings to discuss project progress and address any issues.
  • Coordinate with the subcontracted erector to ensure the installation of finished/fabricated products meets expectations.
  • Manage subcontractors, including reviewing and processing invoices.
  • Prepare and issue required close-out documents to the construction manager upon project completion.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field (preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience in the steel fabrication and/or erection industry.
  • Strong computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Bluebeam.
  • Ability to develop and improve product knowledge.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment, multitasking effectively.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • TeklaEPM (Fabsuite) experience preferred.
