About the Position

The Staff Packaging Engineer will be responsible for supporting the Mixed Signal Solutions Business Unit in Austin, Texas. As a highly skilled semiconductor packaging engineer, you will play a key role in working with teams like R&D Engineers, Device, Process experts, Module Design Team, Program Management, and Operations.


Job Description

This is a key position that requires strong experience in new product introduction, package engineering, and design. You will be responsible for providing design support and material selection for high-yielding, reliable, and cost-effective products.

  • Develop new packaging technologies and support existing legacy products.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure adherence to design and technology rules, timelines, milestones, and deliverables for new product launches.
  • Lead end-to-end readiness for smooth transitions from product development to production release, coordinating activities across Design, Process, Test, Operations, and Module teams.
Requirements
  • Mechanical Engineering degree required with 10+ years experience.
  • Strong Experience in New Product Introduction / Package Engineering / Design in areas of SOIC, QFN, Lead Frame, LGA, BGA, and WLCSP Semiconductor package assembly.
  • Experience in semiconductor packaging assembly processes such as solder attach, die attach, wire-bonding, over-molding, materials curing, BGA, etc.
  • Experience in IC packaging as defined in JEDEC, IATF, and AEC standards.
  • Strong experience of various electronic packaging technologies, structures, materials, and processes.
  • Experience with IC packaging modeling & simulation and packaging failure analysis.
  • Strong understanding of Product Development, manufacturing processes, and supply chain management.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, both technical and interpersonal.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously, well-organized, and with high attention to detail.
Compensation

The estimated salary range for this position is $120,000 - $180,000 per year, based on experience.
